Thanksgiving is over and that means the CFBC (Catholic Family Boot Camp) Egg-blog is back! As we spend the next few weeks preparing our homes and (more importantly) our hearts for Christmas, I'll try to provide little bits of encouraging information, reflections and hope to move towards the celebration of the birth of our Savior.
When we enter into Advent, I'm always reminded that Christians live in a perpetual Advent. We are always waiting for the second coming of Our Lord. If He arrived today, would we be ready? How are we preparing ourselves: going to regular confession, truly participating in the Mass, doing works of charity and showing mercy to others? How can we "keep our lanterns full of oil" like the virgins awaiting the Bridegroom. God reveals Himself to us in three major ways: through His Son, Jesus Christ, in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. If we want to draw closer and be ready in our Advent season, we must learn to immerse ourselves in the avenues of Faith and grace. Pray, read Scripture, celebrate the sacraments and practice works of mercy/charity, in this way we will be ready, on Christmas and every day for the arrival of Christ!
