Life imitates art! Our son got married in November 2019 and he danced with Grandma. His sister got married in February and we have another daughter getting married in July! Busy year in the Rosien household.
Reviews: In poetic fashion, Mary Lou Rosien writes for children a story about the gift each generation brings to a family, especially grandma to her grandchildren. The story emerges as the kids, young, want one more dance with Grandma before their visit with her ends. One more dance, too, as they grow up and get married. One more dance as she visibly ages. And finally, when she dies, she is dancing in Heaven with Jesus.
As a grief writer, I find the theme of life and death to be a simple but profound way to teach young children that loss is normal, that they can be sad when they lose someone they love, yet cherish the memories with that person and have peace in their faith of the afterlife.
